Our spring 2015 Beginner Backpack Class was later in the year than usual so this beginner backpack trip was in early May. This is our Friday night camp, about a 15 minute walk in from the trailhead parking. Beginner backpack trips are generally planned to be easy trips since beginners will not have previous trips to judge difficulty against. It can be hot this time of year in Arkansas so I planned a really easy 2 mile walk in on the west end of the Caney Creek Trail. We were lucky enough to have 3 younger hikers along on this trip. A special thanks is due their parents for introducing these kids to the Wilderness and allowing us to share these pictures with you. Far too soon we will turn the safekeeping of places like Caney Creek Wilderness to them.
